Hey everyone. I am Elisha and I know exactly what it is like to struggle with weight gain and staying on a healthy path.
In fact, I was always on the “healthy” chunky side as kid growing up, even played sports and everything! I did begin losing weight towards the end of my high school days, and was so excited to see it go…. But I certainly did not like it when I could see it coming back !?
That was a little over 10 years ago now, and in the past 10 years I have realized losing weight is one thing, but keeping it off is another. I’ve tried different diets that would start out going well, but did not really last or “stick”. I am sure others have felt the same way. Yes, you get on a diet, see pounds coming off, start feeling better about yourself….but only to see the weight start creeping back on as more time goes by.
The precise reason I have made this site is to help those struggling with weight loss; to keep if off and live a healthier lifestyle! To do this I am going to share my personal experiences with you and what I have discovered over the years.
I also ask for you all to get involved within my site. I love talking about health and fitness and I’m always open to other ideas and feed back!
My journey to getting healthy
I am currently 31 years old and have managed to keep my weight steady between 135-140. I am also short at 5’3 and according to the BMI (Body Mass Index) I am just barley “normal”. I try not to get hung up on weight and body mass index. I’m more concerned with health. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes and what is of most importance is the stuff (food, drinks, rest etc.) we give it!
When I left home at 18 and moved out on my own, I started eating different foods and realized a lot of changes. Dinner time is different when you don’t go home to a cooked meal with your family and it is all left on you. I was just simply making new food choices and it made all the difference! I started feeling more energized and less tired. This lead me to begin running and working out! Food is like fuel for our bodies, very important as the starting point.
I am hesitant to use the word “diet”, instead it is a “lifestyle” . A diet is basically just what you eat on a daily basis, so we all already have a certain diet we eat daily. Choosing to change that current lifestyle to a new healthier one is the first step!
If you ever need feedback or support regarding your healthy-lifestyle decisions or exercises. I would be more than happy to reach out and help you. Just leave a comment below and check back regularly for updates and new content.
I wish you all the best on your new journey and thank you for stopping by! 🙂
